Your first conversation is not a sales call and it is not a form. It is somebody establishing what is actually wrong, what you have already been told, how long you have been waiting, and what you need your body to do again. If your problem is one we cannot help with, or one that does not need surgery, you will find that out in this conversation rather than three appointments later.
Imaging discs, radiology reports, specialist letters, blood work. Getting these released and moved between institutions is tedious, slow and genuinely one of the biggest reasons people give up. Your coordinator does it. If you are missing a scan that your surgeon needs, we arrange it rather than sending you back to the queue you were trying to escape.
A shoulder goes to a shoulder surgeon. A spine goes to a spine surgeon. This sounds obvious and it is exactly what a long waiting list quietly stops happening. Your consultation is usually by secure video, usually within days, and its purpose is for a sub-specialist to tell you the truth about your options, including when the honest answer is that surgery is not one of them.
After your surgeon has reviewed your case, you receive a single written quote covering the surgeon's fee, the anesthesia, the accredited facility, any implant or hardware, and our coordination. The things that sit outside it, such as travel, accommodation and ongoing physiotherapy, are listed separately and named rather than buried. Nothing is booked until you have seen that number and said yes to it. There are no hidden fees, and there is no second invoice afterward.
This part matters, so we will be plain about it. ACCESS coordinates care. We do not perform surgery and we do not sell it. Your surgeon provides the surgery, the accredited facility provides the operating room, and the money intended for those providers is treated as a pass-through: it is held responsibly and released appropriately to the people who actually deliver your care. Our own revenue is a separate, clearly disclosed coordination fee. You will see it, and you will see it labelled.

We arrange your travel home when your surgeon is satisfied you are ready, we coordinate your follow-up and physiotherapy close to where you live, and we keep your home care team informed. What we do is the connective work: matching you to the right sub-specialist, moving your records, arranging your imaging, scheduling your operation, handling your travel and accommodation, presenting you with one clear written quote, and coordinating your follow-up close to home. Funds intended for your providers are handled as a pass-through, held responsibly and released appropriately. Our revenue is a separate, clearly disclosed coordination fee.
A coordinator responds within one business day. Consultations are often available within days, and surgery is frequently scheduled within two to four weeks of that consultation. Your exact timeline depends on the procedure, your medical readiness, whether you still need imaging, and surgeon availability. Worth saying: for a small number of procedures, moving at maximum speed is not in your interest. An ACL reconstruction, for instance, does better when the knee has been calmed down and strengthened first, and we will tell you that rather than sell you an earlier date.
Then you will have been told the truth, which is what you came for. It happens regularly. A torn ACL does not always need reconstructing. Most rotator cuff tears do well on physiotherapy. Most back pain never needs an operation. Small painless hernias can be watched. Silent gallstones are usually left alone. Every procedure page on this site says so in writing. If surgery is not the right answer for you, we will tell you so honestly, and you will not be charged for an operation you did not have.

Your family doctor and any specialist already involved in your care can be sent your operative report and follow-up plan, so that the people looking after you at home know exactly what was done. Your recovery happens where you live, and it goes better when your local team has the full picture. Nothing is shared without your permission.
